Merits App
UX & UI Development
Merits is a relational platform for social and economic innovation which allows foundations and causes to be in direct contact with donors and volunteers. We were asked to redesign the app in order to create value for private citizens to incentivize donation within the app. Merits currently supports sustainable, social, economical, and environmental causes, while also working towards a collective interaction within local communities.
My role: User Researcher, Interface strategy creative & visual designer
When: April 2020 (under quarantine, the project was developed completely via online, using digital design tools such as Mural and Miro)
User Research
1. Interviews Insights & User Personas
We were given the specific task to work with private citizen that would be willing to donate to the platform. In order to do this, we conducted interviews to regular donors, analyzed the most interesting insights and developed a User Persona in order to understand the basic needs of our possible users. We finally reached to two possible users: The Active donor and the Passive donor.
2. User Cases and User Stories
In order to understand and create a solution for our users problems, we developed a series of possible scenarios for our users to use the Merits platform to meet their needs.
Concept Refinement
1. Rebriefing & Idea clusterization
After having analyzed our user, their needs and how can Merits create a solution for them, it was time to re-think the original brief and try to answer the main question that arose during our research and cluster all of our insights in order to design a final solution.

"A curated a journey for the donor, to drive long term engagement in the platform"
By creating a customized interface for the donor, allowing them to contribute to their preferred causes and projects while also raising awareness in their local and global community.

1. Key Features
After developing a complete analysis of our possible users and creating a possible journey within the app, we developed the final features that Merits had to implement in order to meet our users requirements to engage with the platform.
2. Final Design
Using Figma platform, we developed a mockup of the app focusing on the social interaction side of the platform. It focuses on the customization of the interests of the user and the feed of the community.
